Dahlia Cuttings - Part 1

Taking cuttings from dahlia tubers is one of the fastest and most inexpensive ways to grow your stock. 

What you’ll need: 

Warming up dormant tubers:

  • Potting mix/soil
  • Pot(s) for tubers
  • Labels/plant tags
  • Sharpie marker
  • Heated room above 60º 

Once eyes have grown and it’s time to take cuttings:

  • Tray with 50-70 cells and bottom water tray
  • Dome lid for tray
  • Heat mat
  • Washed play sand
  • Labels/plant tags
  • Sharpie marker
  • Sunny room or grow lights
  • X-acto Knife/Scalpel
  • Plant mister/squirt bottle
